Q. How does buying on Gallery Up work?
A. To buy items, you’ll need to create a Up account — it’s free and easy! You can purchase items using whatever payment you specify when checking out via PayPal.
Q. How does the shopping cart work?
A. As you shop around and find items that suit your fancy, add them to your cart. Note: items in your cart are not removed from the site, or reserved for you, until you complete the checkout process. The majority of items on Up are one-of-a-kind and thus tend to sell out quickly, so it’s risky to leave items in your cart for too long. Once you’ve got everything you want, click the Check Out button and follow the onscreen instructions.
Q. Why am I required to register before being able to buy anything?
A. Our feedback system relies on being able to identify the parties involved in every transaction. Your username is the unique identifier which makes this possible.
Q. Is Gallery Up in USD and how do I handle currency conversions?
A. Right now you can only list items in USD on Up. PayPal (credit card sales) will automatically convert your currency. We have plans to offer built-in currency conversion, but as of right now it doesn’t exist.
Q. What is PayPal, how does it work on Up, and how do I buy items with it?
A. Up facilitates payments through a third-party service called PayPal™. Sellers must register a Business or Premier account with PayPal, which lets buyers pay securely using their credit card. The buyer does not have to be a member of this service in order to submit a payment.
