The 2024 Copa América opener was awarded to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, N.C. The final will be at South Florida’s Hard Rock Stadium. The joint announcement was made by soccer’s governing bodies of South America, North America, Central America, and the Caribbean on Monday. Both stadiums have been selected as sites for the 2026 World Cup, to be played in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Copa América is expanding this season to include six teams from North America, joining the traditional ten nations from South America in the 16-team tournament. The 2024 draw will be Dec. 7 in Miami. The FIFA Club World Cup will expand to include 32 teams for its 2025 edition in June and July, with sites for that event expected to be announced next year.
