David Beckham believes that England’s young stars have a “real opportunity” at next year’s Euro 2024 tournament in Germany to end the nation’s wait for a major trophy.
Despite a successful club career, Beckham was unable to lift silverware at international level, but he sees potential in the current England team.
England reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Russia in 2018 and lost to Italy on penalties in the European Championship final at Wembley three years later.

England has already qualified for the Euro 2024 finals with two matches to go, against Malta and North Macedonia, after reaching the last eight at the World Cup in Qatar.
The team has an impressive array of attacking talent including Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, 20, and the prolific Harry Kane, who is having a great season at Bayern Munich.
Beckham expressed his belief in the England team and coach Gareth Southgate’s leadership.
“We were unfortunate to lose in the Euros final against Italy, but we were so close. And I’ve seen that when our national team has some kind of success, the way our country comes together is incredible.”

Beckham, who is visiting India in his role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, believes that with young players like Cole Palmer and Jude Bellingham, and with Harry Kane’s leadership, England has a real opportunity at the 2024 Euros.
England will host Malta on Friday before facing North Macedonia away three days later, aiming to secure a top seeding for next month’s group-stage draw.
