Final 4 Men’s Basketball Olympic Qualifying Events: FIBA’s Draw Unveiled

The future of Dallas’ Luka Doncic, Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns in the Paris Olympics is uncertain. “These tournaments are something else,” said FIBA secretary general Andreas Zagklis. There are already eight teams with berths for the 12-team Olympic men’s field, including the U.S., Germany, Canada, Japan, South Sudan, Serbia, and Australia. The format for the qualifying events is simple: four tournaments, to be hosted by Spain, Greece, Latvia, and Puerto Rico over July 2-7, 2024, with six teams in each tournament. The four host sites were chosen by FIBA earlier Monday, before the draw was held. A look at the qualifying fields, broken down by site and with a world ranking in parentheses.
