Kalinga Super Cup 2023: Clash of ISL and I-League Teams in Odisha with ACL 2 Slot at Stake

The Kalinga Super Cup will be arranged in Odisha from January 9, 2024, the AIFF announced on November 29, 2023. The competition will involve four groups of four teams each, playing single-leg matches amongst themselves. The group winners will qualify for the semi-finals followed by the final on January 28, 2024. The tournament aims to replace the Federation Cup and I-League teams will have to play a qualifier to join all 11 Indian Super League sides in the group stage. This will be the first season where the tournament is held during the regular season. The champions of the Kalinga Super Cup will be nominated to play in the AFC 2023-24 season. AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey expressed optimism about the tournament’s organization and spectator interest.
