Skyy Clark, Tre White, and JJ Traynor scored a combined 71 points in Louisville’s 90-84 overtime victory over New Mexico State on Sunday. Louisville only made one shot in overtime but made 15 of 19 free throws, including eight in a row, to secure the win.
Clark made 15 of 16 free throws and White went 9 for 13 from the line. Louisville was trailing by eight in regulation but managed to draw within three points before tying the game to force overtime.
Rawls, Ezeagu, Cook, and Carpenter led the scoring for New Mexico State, shooting 58.3% from the field but struggling from the free-throw line, making just 9 of 17 attempts.
Louisville, now 3-3, will play Bellarmine on Wednesday, while New Mexico State, 3-5, will host University of the Southwest on Tuesday.
