Manvir Singh’s Heroics Lead India to Victory Against 10-man Kuwait in World Cup Qualifier

FIFA World Cup qualifiers: Indian men’s football team’s Manvir Singh scored the goal to beat Kuwait (AIFF)

Manvir Singh scored to help the Indian men’s football team beat 10-man Kuwait in their World Cup qualifier.

Manvir Singh scored the only goal of the match as India defeated 10-man Kuwait 1-0 in their FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2 match on Thursday.

Manvir scored with a left-footed shot in the 75th minute as he connected a Lallianzuala Chhangte cross to help India win the match at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.

Kuwait ended the match with 10 men as their player Faisal Alharbi was sent off after picking his second yellow card in the third minute of the added time for a high boot challenge on Chhangte.

India will take on Asian champions Qatar next in Bhubaneswar on November 21.

India are placed in Group A alongside Qatar, Kuwait and Afghanistan with the top two from the group progressing to the third round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
