Sami Valimaki and Ryo Hisatsune are both going into the World Tour Championship as relatively unknown players with a lot to gain. The focus of this season-ending event is not just on the battle to win the Race to Dubai, but PGA Tour membership which will be awarded to the top 10 players in the Race to Dubai rankings who do not already have it. This means that Valimaki and Hisatsune, who have had remarkable wins this year, may have the opportunity of a lifetime. Additionally, even non-exempt players in the race could win PGA Tour cards. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy has already secured the European golf’s No. 1 player title and is using the tournament as an opportunity to test out new equipment. This year has been “seven out of 10” for McIlroy, who is seeking to finish on a high note ahead of the 2024 season. Jon Rahm, who is second in the Race to Dubai, has also had success at this event in the past.
