The LPGA released its 2024 schedule, featuring over $116 million in prize money and 10 regular tournaments offering a minimum of $3 million, thanks to corporate support. LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan announced the schedule, including the CME Group Tour Championship, which will raise its purse to $11 million next year. The ESPN deal will provide more coverage of LPGA events, outside of the majors and select events, with 18-hole coverage of two featured groups in the morning and two in the afternoon. Prize money on the LPGA Tour has been steadily increasing, with recent boosts from the majors, such as the U.S. Women’s Open and the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Additionally, the schedule features a new tournament in the Boston area and other moving parts to create a smoother flow and reduce travel across the country. The AIG Women’s British Open, Women’s PGA, and U.S. Women’s Open also have designated venues for the following year’s events. The Solheim Cup will be held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia. For more golf news, visit https://apnews.com/hub/golf.
