Odisha FC secured their fifth consecutive victory by defeating Jamshedpur FC 1-0 in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 tonight.
“A lot of people ask me why I sign players who have worked with me before. It’s because I know these players both as professionals as well as persons. It’s very important to build a good connection between the Indian players and the foreign players,” Odisha FC head coach Sergio Lobera recently explained in an interview.
Jahouh, with his timely tackles and impressive assists, was instrumental in Odisha FC’s victory. His goal came from a corner move in the 56th minute, which was conceded by Jamshedpur FC defender Pratik Chaudhari.
Diego Mauricio, historically the top-scoring player in the fixtures between the two teams, was surprisingly replaced by Lobera with Roy Krishna in the starting XI. Krishna successfully met Jahouh’s corner kick and scored the winning goal for Odisha FC.
Despite 20 shot attempts and three on-target shots, Jamshedpur FC’s creative efforts by Rei Tachikawa and Jeremy Manzorro, along with the imposing presence of Daniel Chima Chukwu, could not find the elusive goal.
Key Performer of the Match
